Cruel Government

We need a compassionate State and not a cruel one.  It seems to me that all the people that did not cause the current problems are paying for them big time, but those are the people who bailed out the very people that caused all the problems in the first place.  Northern Rock and RBS should have been allowed to fail, that was the way to reduce the debt burden.  Why are we rewarding failure?  That way can only lead to one outcome ...failure.  That is cruelty on a macro level.
